A Quick Review Of Mega Plush Mascara By Maybelline.

I saw this mascara on offer for £4.99 at boots so I thought why not!
I think mascara is a basic make up item, so here is my review on Mega Plush Mascara by Maybelline.

The Packaging.

I do Rather like the packaging, the POP of the turquoise goes well with the deep purple. It is a eye catching and positive colour. It brings a nice splash of colour to any make up bag!

The Brush

One of the main selling points of this mascara was the flexible brush that makes it so that, when you apply the mascara, the brush bends with the lashes so you get a nice even, non-clumpy coat on your lashes.

This is quite a good idea of design, however in practice it's rubbish. It doesn't bend with your lashes, when you go to apply the mascara, you can't get the brush in between the lashes because it just bends off. Its so frustrating and annoying. you really have to dig it in to the roots of your lashes so you can get a good secure brush without it bending off the lashes.

The Results

As you can see there is a distinct difference that this mascara has created. It definitely opens and brightens your eyes, but it takes a lot of effort with the stupid flexible brush. Overall I would give it a 6/10 seeing as it does give decent results but they are nothing special. The design of the brush fails completely and I would not buy this product again.

Sorry Maybelline, its just a bit crap!

-thick bleach
-water

                                         3) Add the bleach.
                                         4) shake shake shake!

5) Lay your top out flat.
6) Simply spray your water and bleach mixture all over the shirt.
7) You will see the colour coming through soon.
8) Gather your paints/dyes ( I had to mix a purple, I got these paints from a 99p shop)
9) Sponges at the ready!
10) Simply dab the paint around.
11) Keep dabbing until your happy with it
12) Dip the end of a brush in white paint
13) Dab it all around the shirt to look like stars.

Ink Me Up

Tattoos are getting more and more popular and well, I am hooked. I love them. They are beautiful tokens to carry with you for the rest of your life. They cannot be lost or stolen. They are yours to keep forever. Planning and choosing your tattoos is half the fun. These are the tattoos I want;

1) The Skeletons - I want these skeletons because, well I love skeletons! I love how they are so Gothic and jazzy. I wouldn't however get them on my fingers but maybe across my lower back or maybe just one on my inner, upper arm. There is no deep meaning behind these skeletons for me, I just love the way they look!

2) The Anchor - I love all things nautical. I loved my childhood holidays in Devon and Cornwall, day trips to Hastings and Brighton. Being by the sea is one of the most magical and precious things to me. This anchor just brings my memories of hazy summer evenings on the beach, ice creams, Salcombe high street, my fascination with fantasy underwater creatures all together in one little tattoo which I will probably place on my side thy.

3) Born This Way Unicorn - It's not secret. I love Lady Gaga. I want this tattoo, not so much as a fan tattoo but for its message. "Born this way" is an album, a song and a message that helped me through some difficult stages through school, and I hope it helps me through difficult stages still to come. So I want this tattoo to remind myself of my strength everyday.

4) An OM Symbol - My Mother grew up in India, so we have loads of Indian and Pakistani stuff dotted around our house like bookends in the shape of a small Indian man with ear stretchers carved out of wood ( I know right - So Hipster), A little Ganesh wall placement, Indian bells and just generally Indian looking nick nacks lying around the place. I want to get this symbol to remind me of my mother and her stories of India and also my interest in mediation and things like that.

5) An Alien Head - Because aliens are awesome.

Dark Lipstick

YAY dark lipsticks are getting more and more accepted. WOO.

1) Lips by Topshop in beguiled (buy here) This bad boy is DARK. Its a really rich dark red wine colour and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I get paid soon so I HOPE HOPE HOPE sooo badly to get this colour its beautiful. Its a really good Vamped up shade perfect for winter.

2) Collection 2000 in Queen Of Hearts (buy here ) This doesn't look terribly dark here but having previously purchased this item I can tell you now that it is one dark devil. Its a smouldering red that also has a pop of colour for those who maybe are still shaking in their boots about dark lipsticks.

3) The Dark Side Of Nude Collection at Topshop (buy here) This one takes some guts. To wear in public. GUTS. I probably wouldn't wear this out, its way to dark for me. Although it is a pretty fabulous colour.

Brown to Blonde - The 5 Steps

Brown to blonde. Its a tricky, risky, embarrassing and nerve racking process.
I have (finally) made it to a glorious blonde by following these steps.

My reccomended steps.

1)Find what shade you want to go.

I made the mistake of not taking this first step. I just wanted to go "blonde." Just blonde. You need to know what shade will suit you, how light or dark etc etc because it will give you something to work towards. I just thought 'Right lets bleach this B****" and I didn't know what to really use or do because I had nothing to work towards. Take a look in the hair dye isle, look online or in a magazine. Don't make the same mistake I did and just blindly bleach your hair like there's no tomorrow.

2) Choose a lightening cream suitable for you.

I used Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL Max Blonde.and well, I haven't had a lot of experience with bleach ( apart from sun-in AVOID SUN-IN AT ALL COSTS) so I don't know if my dislikes of it are just normal bleach qualities so I don't want to have to much of a dig at the product because it might be no different from other products. It did turn my ginger ( even though the box said it would turn me straight to blonde which I knew wasn't going to happen but hey its worth a shot.) but I knew it was going to anyway but it smelt horrible ( Your average hair dye smell but 10x stronger), the gloves were cheap and thin making it hard to unscrew caps of things etc etc and overall I just didn't like it but, its bleach. Its not going to be the nicest stuff to handle.

3) Bleaching - There is no escape from the brass.

There isn't. It WILL go brassy. It will. You cannot escape it. my hair was a awful luminous brassy orange. But I am NOT moaning. I knew this was going to happen its all part of the process. I simply bleached it again. It got lighter but a lil less brassy.

4) Tone Tone Tone!

When I say Tone Tone Tone I mean Tone Tone Tone. I used John Frieda Tone Correcting Shampoo. I have to say it did the job ( getting rid of the brass) which was great but... it also lightens hair A LOT so... I ended up blinding people as I walked past. Bright, Luminous, Highlighter yellow. That was my lovely shade. Highlighter. I ordered and even stronger toner to get rid of the yellow but of course that only made it brighter. A Muddle. I was in one.

5) The final dye

This is what did it for me. Just that one more dye. To get it too a good colour. A lot of people suggested an ash blonde dye to get rid of the yellow and make it look naturally blonde and originally I set out to buy an ash blonde colour but I ended up coming home with Nice'n'Easy Baby Blonde. It made my hair a lovely natural baby blonde. It took out the yellow and gave my hair a lovely shine and now I have lovely normal shiny blonde hair.

Tips

-Bleach the shaft and ends of your hair first then your roots because your roots will always get lighten before the rest of your hair.
-Be prepared to go ginger/yellow
-Once you dye it remember it takes a lot of maintence with roots, dulling etc etc so be prepared for that.
-Have fun!

Dip dyed hair with La Riche

So the new hair dye craze is dip dyed hair and to be honest at first I wasn't convinced. I thought they looked strange and a bit stupid but they quickly grew on me. I finally caved and dip dyed my hair with La Riche Turquoise + Violet.

I mixed the two colours with conditioner to make them paler. Its semi-permanent so its a cool change from your everyday hair and gives it a pop.
I would defiantly recommend La Riche because its so easy to use, you can mix the colours, they give a lovely rich colour and they smell lovely!  You can buy it here

The best things about a dip dye is on work/school days you can hide it under a bun then on weekends you can let your hair down and show off the dip dye.
The colour possibilities endless!

Clip in Feather Extensions

Feather extensions are getting more and more popular. Usually people have them glued into their hair like a highlight but they never really appealed to me but then I saw these.
Now believe it or not I brought these in the pound shop.
THE pound shop.
I just saw them and thought you know what its only a pound why not. They clip in like extensions and after I had one in my opinion of them instantly changed.
The purple feathers are a bit bent and scruffy but I thought they would be good for a party or night out.
I much prefer the brown ones for a cute causal hair accessories that add a really nice touch to your outfit.
And for only £1!
